Hardware Required

To use the PC Card in a RPC, you need at least:

• Risc PC 600
• PC card
• 20MB of free disc space
• 4MB of RAM (Windows 3.1) or 1MB (DOS)

The values above will enable you to use the PC card, but for a reasonable level of performance I recomend the following as a bare minimum and the more you exceed these, the better the performance that you will get from the PC card.

• 50MB+ of free disc space (100MB+ for Windows 95)
• 8MB of RAM

Although performance will improve if you add even more memory although I have noticed little difference once 8MB is allocated to the PC card, although this will depend on what software you use. You should remember when deciding how much hard drive space to allocate to the PC partition that PC applications tend to be much larger than Risc OS ones.
